How to choose which Solar panel to install?

Consumers often get confused about the choices when it comes to choosing a PV Solar panel. There are over 350 PV panels listed on the California Solar Initiative (www.gosolarcalifornia.org) that are approved by the California Energy Commission (CEC) to receive rebates for the utility companies.
Which one is the best? How do you determine what gives the best long-term benefit? How about price?

Well, there are many factors to consider: quality, aesthetics, efficiency, brand and of course price.
One could find it challenging to find a specific panel that would meet all these with the best rating. Usually, more efficient panels cost more (sometimes up to 50% more). Efficiency simply means that you would need less roof surface to generate the same amount of electricity. Again, you may opt to use a panel with higher efficiency, however your investment may not yield to a benefit that would substantiate this decision.
Aesthetics and appearance is important for most people who are considering to invest in a PV Solar system. Less expensive PV panels are made with silver frame and poly-crystalline cells, since these are less expensive to produce. If you're looking for a nice looking and more efficient system, you might want to consider a black framed module with mono-crystalline cells. They will cost you more, however there are a few choices that will not break the bank.

We believe that the most important factor is the credibility of the manufacturer. Make sure that the manufacturer of the Solar panel is a long-established company with solid background. Since PV Solar panels have a 25-year output guarantee, you want to make sure that the manufacturer will be around to provide that commitment for you.
The global Solar energy market is becoming larger, investors see more opportunities in renewable energy, and the industry is starting to see many start-up PV Solar panel manufacturers, especially from the Asian marketplace. Due to the long-term warranty period many installers remain careful with installing equipment manufactured by start-ups based overseas.

We at Cal Solar Works learned that research is time well-spent. We are proud to offer one of the best quality, black framed mono-crystalline PV module at a very competitive price manufactured by a 50-year old, multi-billion dollar company.
